About the Faculty

Private and public sector organisations in the UAE are increasingly seeking professionals differentiated by their capacity to apply a research approach to addressing challenges in their organisations. The rapidly expanding UAE higher education sector is also seeking research-active academics who have doctoral qualifications.

UOWD is responding to these growing needs for research-trained professionals by offering two nationally accredited doctoral programs: the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The UOWD research vision is to promote a culture of research innovation and collaboration and establish the University as a leader in research excellence that brings sustainable benefits to business and broader society in the region.

The UOWD Research Committee is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating research strategies, initiatives and activities. UOWD has a dynamic research culture with a number of activities and programs in place to support research innovation The UOWD Research Committee and Library ensure that academics receive the resources and support required to undertake innovative research.

Academic staff collaborate with colleagues in universities and other research centres worldwide to produce knowledge and innovations that contribute to the economic and social development of the UAE, as well as the wider region. UOWD also maintains links with a wide range of organizations such as Maersk, ADNOC, Arabtec, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Quality Group, European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQ).
