The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the UAE's oldest and most prestigious universities. UOWD is currently seeking applicants to fill the position of Adjunct Lab tutor - Database systems with the Faculty of Engineering & Information Sciences.

The ideal candidate will be delivering labs and tutorials on Database systems - The subject presents more advanced topics in the modern relational database technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery.  

The position holder is also expected to conduct tutorials and laboratory experiments in the broad areas related to, Database Management and general tutorial and labs. Subjects of interest include: Big data management, data mining techniques, Artificial intelligence, information visualization. Additionally, the post holder is expected to mark and enhance laboratory coursework, and actively participate in outreach activities.

• • Instruct in laboratories related to academic programs in computer science.
  • Work with Faculty members to develop lab materials for experiments related to computer science, Big Data, and AI.
  • Closely administer lab activities and provide timely feedback to faculty
  • Supervise students in a professional manner and grade lab assignments
  • Assist students in senior design project activities
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by the Head of Department

To qualify for this position, you must have:

• Minimum qualification includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT
• Teaching experience in labs and tutorials
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, University Staff and wider community.
• Fluency in English language (both spoken and written)
• A commitment to values of Passion, Courage, Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration and Innovation.
• Working knowledge and experience with Big Data and AI
