Role Summary
The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is seeking a proactive and service-oriented Facilities Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety, and sustainability of our Knowledge Village campus. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional who enjoys a varied role that combines facilities operations, technical systems, stakeholder coordination, event support, health and safety, and service excellence.
As a key member of the Facilities team, you will ensure that our learning and working environments remain safe, efficient, fully operational, and responsive to the needs of students, staff, and visitors. You will work closely with internal departments, contractors, service providers, landlords, and regulatory authorities to deliver high-quality facilities services across campus.
Experience in educational campuses, commercial buildings, hospitality, healthcare, or large mixed-use facilities environments is highly desirable.
Key Accountabilities
Coordinate and monitor preventive and reactive maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure campus infrastructure remains fully operational.
Oversee and coordinate facilities support services, including cleaning, security, pest control, landscaping, and general campus support activities.
Manage facilities-related service requests and help maintain efficient service response times for campus users.
Operate and support building systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), lighting controls, access control systems, and CCTV infrastructure.
Administer facilities inventory and stores, ensuring stock accuracy, replenishment, and compliance with procurement procedures.
Support the setup and execution of internal and external university events, including venue preparation and approved catering arrangements.
Coordinate transportation requirements and ensure university vehicles and associated documentation remain compliant and up to date.
Contribute to campus safety initiatives, emergency preparedness activities, risk assessments, and safety audits.
Deliver document and administrative support services, including stationery management, courier coordination, printing, scanning, and document preparation services.
Liaise with the landlord, TECOM, contractors, and relevant authorities to obtain approvals, coordinate maintenance activities, and secure permits for events and refurbishment works.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Candidates must demonstrate:
Minimum 8 years' relevant experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or building services.
Strong knowledge of UAE facilities management practices, HSE requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Experience operating building technologies such as BMS, access control, CCTV, or related building systems.
Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and service providers.
A strong customer-service mindset with a proven commitment to delivering a positive user experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management software.

Working Arrangements
Based primarily at the UOWD Campus in Dubai Knowledge Village.
Shift-based schedule:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Occasional travel within the UAE may be required to support university events.
