About the Role
The School of Business is seeking PhD-qualified academics and/or experienced industry professionals with expertise in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Procurement, or related fields to teach a postgraduate subject in Contemporary Issues in Supply Chain Management.
The subject adopts a strategic and business-oriented perspective, exploring how effective Supply Chain Management can enhance organisational performance, create stakeholder value, and build resilient and sustainable supply chains. It covers key supply chain principles and functions, with a focus on evaluating supply chain designs, achieving strategic alignment, and addressing contemporary challenges across local and global supply networks.
Key areas include:
Supply Chain Management principles, functions and strategies
Supply chain design and strategic alignment
Supply chain resilience and risk management
Sustainability and responsible supply chains
Enabling technologies and digital supply chains
Contemporary issues in local and global supply chains
Creating stakeholder value through effective supply chain management
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and interactive lectures to post graduate level students.
Develop engaging learning materials using contemporary case studies.
Facilitate critical discussion on contemporary supply chain practices and technologies.
Integrate real-world examples and industry developments into teaching.
About You
The ideal candidate should have:
A PhD in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business, or a closely related discipline
Strong academic and/or industry expertise in Supply Chain Management
University-level teaching experience, preferably at postgraduate level
Practical experience in contemporary supply chain practices and technologies
Experience using supply chain simulations, simulation tools, or experiential learning activities
The ability to connect supply chain concepts with real-world business challenges and strategic decision-making
Relevant industry experience and/or research publications would be highly desirable
Candidates with strong industry experience and a practical, business-oriented approach to Supply Chain Management are particularly encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Benefits
The successful candidate will enjoy interaction with a professional dynamic team of highly respected educators from more than 50 different countries and exposure to students from over 100 nationalities.
The University offers adjunct lecturers at postgraduate level a compensation of AED 15,000/- per lecture for the trimester. This covers teaching, grading and providing subject consultation for students. The University is located in Knowledge Park, Dubai and has excellent teaching, learning and research facilities as well as a Library that meets international standards.
